RIZQ Technologies Sdn. Bhd. is collaborating with Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) on a research initiative exploring the application of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in financial and accounting systems through ACCURA Financial Accounting System (ACCURA FAS).
Titled “Development of Sovereign-Ready GenAI Financial System: ACCURA FAS,” the initiative brings together RIZQ Technologies’ industry technology platform and UMPSA’s research capabilities to explore new possibilities in AI-powered financial reporting.
Bringing AI into Financial Management
The research explores how Generative AI can enable users to interact with financial information in a more intuitive and conversational way.
Rather than relying solely on static dashboards and predefined reports, the proposed approach explores how users could interact with financial data using natural language, enabling them to ask questions, analyse financial information and retrieve relevant supporting records more efficiently.
The research incorporates technologies including Oracle Autonomous Database, Vector Database capabilities and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to explore how AI can be applied within a structured financial system.
ACCURA FAS as the Foundation
ACCURA FAS, RIZQ Technologies’ integrated financial and accounting management system, serves as the platform for the research.
With its structured financial architecture and modules covering areas such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Assets and Purchasing, ACCURA FAS provides a practical foundation for exploring the integration of advanced AI capabilities while maintaining the integrity of core financial processes.
The collaboration allows RIZQ and UMPSA to explore how AI can enhance access to financial information while remaining grounded in the underlying financial data and records.
Exploring Sovereign-Ready AI
A key area of the research is the exploration of a sovereign-ready approach to Generative AI for financial systems.
For financial and enterprise environments, factors such as data sovereignty, auditability, accuracy and control are important considerations when introducing AI technologies.
The research therefore explores the use of a governed RAG architecture, where AI-generated responses can be grounded in verified financial information and supporting records.
This approach aims to explore how emerging AI capabilities can be introduced into financial systems in a secure, controlled and responsible manner.
Strengthening Industry–University Collaboration
The collaboration between RIZQ Technologies and UMPSA reflects the value of bringing together industry technology and university research to explore emerging digital technologies and their practical applications.
